When living in Laos on a budget, you might want to find a car that you can afford, that’s when a used car becomes your first choice. Here are 10 things you need to look for when buying a used car in Laos 

1. Research on the car model

When you finding a used car on the listing, do your research on the model to see the functions, specs, and other information you need to know about the car you are about to buy. This is going to be your first impression of the car you are interested in and learn exactly what function it has.

When you meet up with the dealer, make sure you check the interior and exterior of the car to see if there is something odd or whatnot. The dealer should allow you to check the car. See if there is any red flag you need to be aware of.

Look out for modification of the car as well, whether it is necessary for you, or you can ask for modification yourself.

7. Maintainance Record

Check if the used car you are looking for has been maintained throughout the year, this is to ensure that the car can be operated normally and no errors when driving

8. Written Contact

Please ask for a contract with the dealer, especially when you buy from the owner themselves, list all the terms and conditions that you and the dealer agreed on, this is to keep the record and evidence of an agreement between you and the owner.

Is the price reasonable for you? Can you negotiate for a discount? Negotiation with the dealer is the only way you can get the best price for a used car after all of the inspection you’ve made so far

10. Test drive

Ask the dealer if you can have a test drive for a day, this is the only way that you can find out about the experience with the car, and that’s when you will know whether or not the used car is worth buying
