Rather you are new to Laos or have been living here for a while, it’s always helpful to have a quick guide to get you around when situations get tough. Rather it’s finding an OBGYN for babies and kids, getting sick from unfamiliar foods, clumsy mistakes on a motorbike or god forbid CO-VID19 outbreak – it’s important to know the best hospitals and clinics for your needs. Luckily, Laos is adequately equipped with a range of medical experts to attend to most needs. In this brief guide, we will share a list of clinics and hospitals in Vientiane to meet your medical needs.

Alliance International Medical Center: This medical center has Lao and English speaking staff. They have a wide range of medical services available from regular check-ups, cancer screening, X-rays, blood and urine tests, eye doctors, and more. It’s the go-to place for most medical needs. Hospital 103: This hospital is mainly a Lao hospital located next to the military medical center. They have a wide range of medical services available from regular check-ups, a 24/7 emergency room with ambulances, an OBGYN center, X-rays, blood and urine tests, and more.

LMC Clinic: LMC Clinic is a private clinic chain with Lao and English speaking doctors. It’s equipped with new, affordable ultrasound technology in case you have a baby on the way. They have fantastic OBGYN for women and can attend to maternal and post-maternal needs as well as birth control options for women. Walk-ins are welcome.  

Mahosot Hospital: Mahosot hospital focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. It is one of the main medical research and training centers that welcomes international doctors to train local medical teams.

Mother and Newborn Hospital: If you are pregnant – this hospital is perfect for maternal needs to all delivery services. It’s specifically built for labor and delivery for your newborn. It’s located a bit outside of the center – but is comfortable, clean, and professionally equipped. There are community and private rooms to stay in. They offer services for natural and c-section labors. Walk-ins are welcome.   

Lao-Korea Children Hospital: Have children? This hospital has Lao, English, and Korean speaking staff. It's open 24/7 for emergency and non-emergency needs. Its equipped with new technology for all your children's needs. There are also private rooms in case you need to stay overnight.

Mittaphab Hospital (Friendship Hospital): Primarily a Lao hospital with English speaking staff. It recently innovated with new equipment for a wide range of medical needs such as Endoscopic surgery, cardiology, mental health, mammogram, treatment of hypertension and cancer, and more. It’s open 24/7 for emergency needs and has ambulance services.

Centre Medical Francis: Located in the city center next to Vientiane Center and Parkson Mall. This clinic has an English, French, and Lao speaking staff. They have a range of services including general family and adult healthcare, and more.
